Praha!

Sunday 14th MAY 2006 - Prague / Praha / Prag

Woke up early in the morning, had some breakfast and then off to Florenc bus station,to buy my bus ticket from Prague - Vienna,Austria for Monday.Arrived at the station and immediately went for the Student Agency counter (no you dont need to be a student to get on their buses). They serve pretty cheap connections within and outside Czech Republic. The bus from Prague-Vienna costs me 270crowns (thats less then 10 euros)I didnt bring enough Crowns, and they didnt accept Euros, but the staff helped me to do a booking, which i found relieving. The 1230 bus was full,so I opted for the 1030 bus departing from Prague. Now,one task done, ive gotta go back as ive agreed to meet Eliska near the horse of Wanceslas Square by 1030.Horsewanc

Eliska decided to bring me to Monument to Žižka of Tabor, at Vitkov Hill/Park in Zizkov-Prague, where "the one-eyed" Žižka
repulsed the Germans/Hungarians in 1420.It is also claimed as the world’s largest horse statue, 9m tall.
The building behind it was built before WWII, used by the Nazis as an arsenal
and by the communists as a tomb for presidents. The statues were built in 1950.

We got off from the Florenc metro station and walked up hill where we got to see a good view of Prague on the clear Sunday morning.True enough, the only people spotted there were locals (only few of them, jogging, and relaxing at the area)
ViewAs you can see from this view, there lies a tower built similar to the Eiffel of Paris, only it is scaled 1/3 the Parisian counterpart. The Petrin Tower, which is located on the Petrin Hill was built as observation tower back in 1891.Eliskame_1

Eliska and I with the Ceska Republika flag.My own version of Lonely Planet six degrees! We decided then to go and have a lunch somwhere nearby and then we would dismiss and meet again later in the evening to a local pub.

I spent the rest of the day walking to the Josefov (Jewish Quarter) where old cemetaries and synagogues lies, and to the Prague Castle again,to shoot in daylight,to Karluv most, back to Old Town centre and to buy some souvenirs for family back home.Sinagoga

Back again to hostel and prepared for the evening. This time,I have to alight at the Metro Station Nádraží Holešovice, where Eliska will fetch me and walk down to a pub nearby. Its called CROSSCLUB and its way cool and pretty much creative! The interior of the club were made of used machineries, fire extinguishers, engineering stuffs and i dont know what else. But it certainly looks cool.41
Eliska and I spent the evening chatting for the last time there. We talked about (whatelse) travel, people, the world and yeah and travel again.Cuz we are ppl who r crazy to travel, arent we? We ended our meetup in the Metro station where we say goodbye to each other, and i very much appreciate her company while I’m in Prague, for the first time, travelling alone.Hope to see you again soon, eliska!

Then i got back to hostel and repack my stuffs and got to bed ,not to miss my bus the next morning!
