….Accident

You never imagined this before..It was on the federal highway exit to Subang Jaya (southbound) when ther was a little crawl. As Shahir,Daus,Naim n I was driving our way to McD SS15.We saw quite a number of ppl gathered outside and watch something under the flyover. We didnt care much as we do not want to be the TYPICAL MALAYSIAN ROAD USER.We headed straight to Alliance bank to collect my Ikea Visa card before proceeding to McD.We had good lunch..burgers,fries etc.On the way back, hundreds of ppl were on the roadside to stop n see the accident. We were curious then cuz it is too crowded. We managed to park on the road shoulder from the glenmarie road, and stopped and got to capture this image..220805_1311

Now that’s terrible.
A KTM commuter train was stopped and the operation put on hold.Cant imagine how the car gone all the way there!

Critical : Air Pollution Index hits 500

Hazemorning [Haze condition at 7.46am]

RED ALERT : HAZE CURFEW
Earlier this evening we had an unexpectedly very hazy afternoon in Subang Hangar where i work.I was at the library when almost all of the technicians and engineers stopped working on the aircraft and stayed in the office. The haze was severe. We couldnt even see the aircraft parked couple of hundred metres in front of the Hangar. It was a yellowish, smokey fog.It is never this bad before. The news then came as the Air Pollution Index hit past 500 in Port Klang and Kuala Selangor.Subang however was experiencing almost 400 API.Selangor state government have announced official curfew for Kuala Selangor and Port Klang which was very heavily effected. All factory, worksites, offices, schools were instructed to close with immediate effect as the curfew announced and the duration of the curfew is to be announced later til a suitable date.

Everyone in the hangar was picking up their masks for health sake.I got mine today though, and it was one piece for each staff (These masks were initially an uncontrolled item, since some ppl like to do business in any situation, the Engineering Dept ordered the store to limit the masks distribution)
Haze

Going back from the Subang Hangar to fetch my mom at my sis’ place in Nusa Subang,i managed to snap some of the view of the haze.Of course, the pictures dont really do justice.Being there for yourself was worse than you may think.

After 5 pm Shah Alam API went to 430,succesfully become the 3rd most severe affected location after the two-curfewed-zones in Selangor.

So people do take care of yourself..take mineral water and avoid going out or doing outdoor activities.

API above 300 is considered VERY HAZARDOUS

API reaches 410

Haze Worsen in Klang Valley.
The Haze caused by the forest fire in Sumatra gets worse today as the Air pollution index hits 410 in Port Klang. It is a severe level of index and if it goes past beyond 500,government may declare curfew.UiTM in Shah Alam anyways have declared no class til Friday. The haze is not expected to be any better in coming days.
Everybody need to put on their mask on for now,and pray..

Airbus A330 HMV

Thursday, August 4th, 2005

040805_1106
This is what i do now.I’m based in Hangar 3 working with an Airbus A330 plane which undergoes a Heavy Maintenance Visit (HMV). The plane’s stripped bare and the whole process of redoing this plane takes more than a month.I guess you wouldnt want to fly onboard the plane if u see the stripped version of it.But hey thats what i see everyday. And i can tell you flying is still the safest mode of transport! latest Airbus crash is recently in Toronto, only a couple of days ago. an A340 plane crashed and it is the first case for Airbus for the past 12 years! Unlike cars, lotsa accidents everyday!!

A Filipino friend

Thursday, August 4th, 2005

Burnsmuizklcc
I accompanied my friend, Muiz last Monday to see his Filipino friend who was here for a short holiday. It turned out the be a great night out.We chatted and get to know each other better.Mr Burns (as we call him) is about 30,single and runs his family business in Manila and Tokyo.Muiz got to know him during their meeting in Bangkok Thailand couple of years ago for Boy Scout Jamboree back then.In fact he is still the one who heads the boyscouts assoc in Manila.

He didnt have the chance to explore Malaysia as he was travelling with his brother and his mom whose on a wheelchair. We pity him for not seeing KL as it was supposed to be.

In fact i get really annoyed when he told me how the travel agency in Malaysia reacts when he asked whether there was any daytours excursion in Kuala Lumpur
"There is nothing to see in KL,u go KLCC and KL Tower,no need tour" Is that what you gonna say to a tourist who wants to see what KL is all about.
And all these guys thinks are shopping mall. What a disgrace!

Burnsmemerdekasq

After we brought him for Nasi lemak in Kampung Baru,we took him to to KLCC for a nightshot and Merdeka Square for some pictures to be taken.Petaling street wast opened after midnight though. We couldnt do much too since nothing really to be seen after midnight during weekdays.Poor him though but i reckon he’s gonna enjoy and see what Malaysia is all about during his next stint here.

Hope to see you again next time, Mr Burns!

Struck by Haze

Thursday, August 4th, 2005

KjhazeIts 4.45 pm, I was on my way back from Subang Airport and the surrounding looks strange. It was foggy everywhere.I phoned my friend whether Shah Alam is foggy too.Yes it was,i asked him to check for latest news.Minutes later, i received from thestar an sms confirming the situation struck the whole nation mostly in the northern and southern peninsula. Then come the official radio announcement on Hitz.fm regarding the matter. It was Haze caused by forest fire in Sumatra and the South West wind was responsible for the smog.
