Maliq & D’Essentials Live in KL

August 26th, 2006 by budiman

Event   : Pensi 2 Warna
Org      : Merah Putih Society of UNITAR
Venue   : Planet Hollywood KL
Date     : 26th August
Time    : 3.30 PM

The day awaited so long finally has arrived. It was really a co-incident for me when it comes to know Maliq D’Essentials will be performing. For an instant, while i was in Jakarta last month,we (muiz and I) never really had a plan to go to any specific nightspots, until when Muiz and i were sitting in the Barbershop near the Sarinah Jl Thamrin, that we found out that Maliq was going to perform on that very evening,so we decided we’ll give it a go! That was our first introduction to Maliq’s live performance live in Hard Rock Cafe Jakarta. And their performance totally blew us away. And the results- first time - muiz - became an instant fan.Back then i only knew some songs, but now i know all of em in the first album and the upcoming ones. :-D
Maliqkl_004

So we left a bit early to KL to avoid the crazy traffic jams on saturday afternoon, thanks for the Malaysian Mega Sale, everyone is mad about shopping malls! Duh… Anyhow we managed to comfortably park the car at Lot 10 and it took few mins to walk to Planet Hollywood (PH).
There wasnt like going any event,no ppl turned up yet.So we bought the ticket there, while the committee still were scratching their head, since they last-minute changed their venue from Plenary Hall,KLCC to PH KL.We went downstairs but it was more or less not prepared, and then we were kindly asked to wait outside cuz they were about to do the soundcheck n stuffs.Fair enough, but i felt the same environment as if I were in the HRC Jakarta last month, since all of them are Indonesians.
:-D

So the event kicked off quite late at about 4pm.While waiting outside, crowd slowly came i can easily tell that 70% are Indonesians students. That was kewl enuff,a good environment! Then came the MTV Indonesia crew with VJ Rianti preparing.I think ive seen this face before but where did i see?? Trying to recall…trying to recall..i made a wild guess.she’s Asri from that fav movie of mine "JOMBLO"
But i wasnt so sure.Well nevermind, she was a hot looking VJ too anyways.
Maliqkl_010

At 4pm we were allowed to go in and it kinda started a bit later actually. So the host for the evening was a local presenter, who ran thru the performance by the indonesian students mostly from Sunway College and Limkokwing Univ. The first one was Bali dance, then followed by a female-led pop-rock band, and then again a Belawan dance, then a good trio band from LKW,followed by local KL band singing Acapella and Stoned Bay,great rocking band from here as well.
Last but not least the last dance were displayed before the final event of the day.
Maliqkl_017

VJ Rianti then joined the stage to offer some freebies from MTV Indonesia, which by then i am particularly sure, that babe is that Asri in the movie JOMBLO.So they started with a simple question.
VJ Rianti : Namakan 2 track daripada album Maliq & The Essentials
Budiman: (raising hand)
VJ R : Mana ya yang ganteng2? Ha cowo yang di depan ini (sambil pointing towards Budiman)
Local host : Nama siapa?
Budiman : Budiman
LH :So namakan 2 lagu dari Maliq Budiman: Terdiam & Kangen!
VJR: (sambil memberikan hadiah MTV berbentuk retractable pen and some coins pouch) datang kpd budiman dan memberi hadiah,Congrats ya budiman!
Budiman : makasihh..

And afterwards they have some crazy competition to get some CDs,before finally welcoming Maliq on stage.A very heavy cheer whenever the name is mentioned, since most of the crowd were waiting for Maliq. Then Maliq & D’Essentials eventually came on stage, and Indah distributed some of Maliq music freebies, which again,i got two of them, one of which of course i gave to Muiz.We got ourselves this:Maliq

Maliqkl_023

The performance from Maliq was mind blowing, just like when we saw in jakarta. They kicked off with their highly anticipated Kangen in a live-and kicking-style followed by Sampai Kapan (the duet song with local singer Camelia of Malaysia in the album, but she wasnt around) and number of hits from their 1st album like  the groovy Sunshine, indonesian sound Tandanya, Hadirmu, Untitled (with Widhi as 2nd vocals) ,The one, the upcoming single - Free Your Mind , Are You in the Mood, my favorite Terdiam, and the funky Blow my mind.
They wrapped up their performance in their own style and that was really cool.
Maliqkl_037

So the event came to an end,and i as we were about to leave, suddenly VJ Rianti came from nowhere on her way up the exit too.I didnt waste anytime, went to approach her and i asked
Budiman : Excuse me,kamu yang lagi ngestar dalam film ‘JOMBLO’ tu kan
VJ R       : Iya! Kamu Budiman kan?
Budiman : Iya!! Eh bisa difotoin sama kamu?
VJ R       : Of course
CLICK!
Vjcathy

So we went back fully satisfied with the performance, and to know that we had donated some part of that money to the quake fund is relieving too.
It was a really great day,and that kind of day doesnt come too often!

A day at Wien,Österrich!

May 25th, 2006 by budiman

Tuesday 16th MAY 2006 - Wien,Österrich

After having some breakfast,I went out  alone,as Daniel had to go for a photoshoot session, and i took the opportunity to stroll Wien in a slow pace,as i have quite some mild blisters at my feet.We decided that we would meet at Zieglergaße station at 1300.So,i headed again to the district 1 area,to MuseumQuartier (MQ) and wander around and get myself lost. Then i rested and have something to munch and drink before continued walking.Morninginwien( Guess where this is? ).
My camera has indicated some signs of low-batt syndrome, thus i immediately switch it on to Viewfinder mode rather than LCD mode.Tried to minimize battery usage, cuz i have places yet to see and snap.

It was about noon,i walked back to District 1 area to do some peoplewatching.Quite interesting. Then i got off to the U-bahn station where i met Daniel and we headed for lunch. We were talking bout typical Austrian dishes/meal the previous night,so Daniel brought me to a place called Centimetre where austrian meals are served. He of course helped me with the menu (in deutsch) and picked up Knödel mit Ei for me ( a mix of eggs, onions,n some other stuffs) and it turned out to be quite nice.Unfortunately i cant finish the BIG PORTION they served me.

Makantime

( Knödel mit Ei )

Earlier Daniel and I had planned to go to Schonbrünn Palace. However,Daniel had something urgent to do,so we head back home.I too, need some rest,as my feet are aching.

After a good nap,i woke up at 6 pm.I told Daniel,I’d go to buy some souvenirs although its kinda late. So,i went straight to the Stephenplatz station, bought some stuffs and then decided to have a look at the Schonbrünn Palace. It was about 9 stations away, but since the night falls at about 8.40 and it is still bright, i gave it a go.

Schonfront
(from the main entrance of the palace)

The Palace was big and the gardens were HUGE. And very beautiful as well.As you can see from here, theres somthing like a monument on top of the hill at the palace backyard.SchonbackyardIt took some determination to reach up there, since it was about late, and i was tired. But hey, you’ve been so far to let go a good view from the top.So i walked up there and wow,a view of the palace from the top of the hill.
SchonbruntopSo after having some rest (it was tiring to go uphill) i decided to go back at 2030hrs.I walked down and headed for the exit, only to realize all other gates are closed except the main gates.whew,a long way to go!

Its getting dark, and i sped up as i’ve told Daniel i’ll be back before 9pm.After not finding the main gate,i decided to jump off the fence and rushed towards the U-bahn station and straight to Westbahnof.Decided to buy some drinks at a store, then i heard some malay language spoken! I approached them and chat with 4 ppl,2 of em of Malaysia and 2 of Singapore. They’re Austrian Air staff who’re attending course now at Wien.Cool.

I arrived at Daniel’s about 9.30,and it was tiresome. That night we chatted more, and discuss many more things.I presented him some "Dodol" from Malaysia and he looked enjoying it! He also taught me some DJing and stuffs on Drum & Bass which is nice stuff. We had a lot of fun that night.Too bad i gotta leave the next morning.Hope to see you again,Daniel.Maybe in ur trip to Malaysia some time in the future? Vienna,Austria!

Monday 15th MAY 2006 - Praha - Vídeň (Prague,CZ - Wien,AT)

Checked out at 0900 and off I went to Florenc bus station.Firstly i need to retrieve my ticket from the office. So arriving early in the station would help.Went to the office inside the terminal building and got my ticket at the price of 270 Kč.The original price was 300 ,but there was an additional 10% discount for Under-26.Cool ! Its like only 9.5Euros (about RM 44)

So i waited for the Student Agency bus to come at the Platform 0 , 10 minutes prior departure. To kill some time,i spent my last few czech crowns to buy at the shops nearby. The yellow bus then arrived (it very much looked like a malaysian schoolbus, but hey its far more modern than any bus/coaches in Malaysia). The interior were neat, with DVD played onboard, complimentary newspapers and coffee.
Nadpis_pic

At first I was a bit confused when my ticket were imprinted with the destination - Vídeň (yeah all in cesky lingo),I was curious, asked the staff, and they told me its correct,Vídeň is Vienna,Austria or as the Austrian call it "Wien"

The bus departed at 1030.The bus however will stop at Brno, the next biggest city in Cz.Repub. where we will be transferred onto the bus to Wien. The journey took about 2 hrs to Brno and another 2 hrs plus to arrive at Praterstern bus stop,Wien. Arrived at Wien at about 1530.

Earlier,i have made an arrangement to meet Julia, from HC and she agreed to show me around Wien that afternoon.I waited at the Praterstern Metro station for about 10 minutes, before she turned up,just when i wanted to call her from public phone (travelling without a live mobile phone isnt really a sound idea!).
Meetjulia
(meet the wonderfully friendly Julia!)

I was with a backpack and a handluggage,so we decided to send my stuffs at Daniel’s place, the cool guy from HC who agreed to host me while im in Wien.Julia was kind enough to let me contact Daniel thru her mobilephone. Our first destination now,is to Daniel’s at Felbergaße , near the Metro Johnstraße.After meeting Daniel and leaving the luggs,we went to tour Wien, for about 2 hours, cuz Julia had to go by 7.Anyways i guess it was a very nice 2 hrs well-spent by Julia and I.Stphnsdom

(the Stephansdom)

She showed me around to the Innere  Stadt (District 1) where important buildings lies like the cool-roofed Stephansdom which is
the only remaining building from the Middle Ages. The we walked to the Hofburg Palace ,to the Rathaus (City Hall), to the beautiful
Naturhistorisches (Natural History) and Kunsthistorisches (Art History)Hofburg

(Hofburg - Kaisers used to live here in the Kaiserappartements)

We went further out of the 1st District and went to Mariahilf
(District 6)
which this neighborhood is famous for
Mariahilferstrasse, one of the busiest shopping streets in Vienna.

Next , to Neubau  (District 7) This picturesque but vibrant community  borders the Museum Quartier, which houses most of the modern museums and a place to chill and hang out, which i liked very much! Mq

(Its nice just to laze around and do nothing here!)

We also visited quickly Alsergrund
(District 9) for the Vienna University before we rested near the MuseumQuartier so Julia can jot down for me important places and food/drinks to look forward while im in Wien. That includes Apfelstrudel and Kaiserschamerren to eat and Melange to drink!

Unfortunately, time wasnt on our side.Julia had to leave, and I head back to Daniel’s.But we did have some valueable chitchat session. She told me she’s coming over to Thailand next August. What a great excuse to spend couple of days if not a week in Malaysia! Try to book AirAsia to get the flight from Bangkok to KL i told her! Hope she can make it to Malaysia and i’m more than glad to welcome her to my place, and eat Malaysian food!

I got back to Daniel’s and we talked for a while before he decided to bring me to meet his friends. Our first stop was a kaffehaus in the Mariahilferstrasse where i got to sip the Melange and meet two wonderful people, Bernhard and his gf Margaret.Mariahilfer

(Mariahilferstraße)

Soon we were at Bernhard’s place where he and 4 other live in a big apartment.Theyre mostly HC members as well and a couple of them has been to Malaysia .Bernhard told me there are pictures of malaysian food hanged at their kitchen wall.True enough, i saw the evidence of nasi lemak, some mi kari and some thai stuffs.Way cool!

Then we were joined by Franz and Matthias and we had a lot of fun chatting bout travel,Malaysia (theyve been to Pulau Perhentian and Kota Bharu),Austria and Inssbruck (the place where they came from) They also showed me some great pictures of mountaineering/snowboarding in Innsbruck during their last "new year’s eve".Really nice place.Gotta go check that place out someday!

They are very nice people and they enjoyed Drum & Bass (D&B).That explains the turntables and stuffs at both Daniel’s and their place.Great night, very localized feeling of chilling out.Its their way of hanging out with friends,as Daniel told me so (unlike in malaysia,we go "mamak")

Great introduction to Vienna, thanks to Julia,Daniel and friends!

Praha!

Sunday 14th MAY 2006 - Prague / Praha / Prag

Woke up early in the morning, had some breakfast and then off to Florenc bus station,to buy my bus ticket from Prague - Vienna,Austria for Monday.Arrived at the station and immediately went for the Student Agency counter (no you dont need to be a student to get on their buses). They serve pretty cheap connections within and outside Czech Republic. The bus from Prague-Vienna costs me 270crowns (thats less then 10 euros)I didnt bring enough Crowns, and they didnt accept Euros, but the staff helped me to do a booking, which i found relieving. The 1230 bus was full,so I opted for the 1030 bus departing from Prague. Now,one task done, ive gotta go back as ive agreed to meet Eliska near the horse of Wanceslas Square by 1030.Horsewanc

Eliska decided to bring me to Monument to Žižka of Tabor, at Vitkov Hill/Park in Zizkov-Prague, where "the one-eyed" Žižka
repulsed the Germans/Hungarians in 1420.It is also claimed as the world’s largest horse statue, 9m tall.
The building behind it was built before WWII, used by the Nazis as an arsenal
and by the communists as a tomb for presidents. The statues were built in 1950.
Zizka

We got off from the Florenc metro station and walked up hill where we got to see a good view of Prague on the clear Sunday morning.True enough, the only people spotted there were locals (only few of them, jogging, and relaxing at the area)
ViewAs you can see from this view, there lies a tower built similar to the Eiffel of Paris, only it is scaled 1/3 the Parisian counterpart. The Petrin Tower, which is located on the Petrin Hill was built as observation tower back in 1891.Eliskame_1

Eliska and I with the Ceska Republika flag.My own version of Lonely Planet six degrees! We decided then to go and have a lunch somwhere nearby and then we would dismiss and meet again later in the evening to a local pub.

I spent the rest of the day walking to the Josefov (Jewish Quarter) where old cemetaries and synagogues lies, and to the Prague Castle again,to shoot in daylight,to Karluv most, back to Old Town centre and to buy some souvenirs for family back home.Sinagoga

One of the synagogues found in the Jewish Quarter

Back again to hostel and prepared for the evening. This time,I have to alight at the Metro Station Nádraží Holešovice, where Eliska will fetch me and walk down to a pub nearby. Its called CROSSCLUB and its way cool and pretty much creative! The interior of the club were made of used machineries, fire extinguishers, engineering stuffs and i dont know what else. But it certainly looks cool.41
Eliska and I spent the evening chatting for the last time there. We talked about (whatelse) travel, people, the world and yeah and travel again.Cuz we are ppl who r crazy to travel, arent we? We ended our meetup in the Metro station where we say goodbye to each other, and i very much appreciate her company while I’m in Prague, for the first time, travelling alone.Hope to see you again soon, eliska!

Then i got back to hostel and repack my stuffs and got to bed ,not to miss my bus the next morning!

Prague,Czech Republic

Saturday 13th MAY 2006 - Praha , Česká republika

Thanks again to Angah,i got to spend the night and make use of his pc to connect to my HC friends from Prague and Vienna (Wien).
We got to the airport at about 5.30 am and it was already jampacked with people! There were so many early morning flights departing from Manchester!

Checked in-with no problem this time, and thanks to their very efficient staff, the long queues made short in no time. The only thing is my fork was removed from the handluggage ( yeah didt realize it was there). It rained  that morning, and i  was just hoping prague will be a bit better.Csa

At about 10.30,arrived in Prague Ruzyne Airport.Weather was a bit cloudy.Upon arriving at the arrival hall,i changed some euros to Czech crowns to get onto the bus to the city (its normal to get not-so-good rate at the airports). So i took the cheapest route to the city,by public bus no 119 and got off at Metro Station Dejvicka and from there to Florenc station. It costs only 20kc (less than a euro) and the ticket lasts for the metro as well for 90 minutes. My initial agreement with an HC member to stay at his place was cancelled last minute,so i have to find myself a decent hostel within the city centre. From the Florenc station,i walked to the Nove Mesto (New town) and after some rest and internet at the so called "Hard Rock cafe",i ended up checking in the AZ- Hostel which is located near the VÁCLAVSKÉ NÁMĚSTÍ (Wanceslas Square)Az

My cellphone battery was weak when i arrived and it did no good when i found out i havent bring the adaptor for Czech Republic. However i have already got a confirmation by an HC member,to meet up at 2000hrs later in the evening. So i thought i have some time to find the electrical adapter, which i was wrong. After consulting the hostel reception,i decided to take some walk to nearest electrical store, and to Tesco electrical department.Found none, most of the electrical shops were rather closed because its weekend!Tesco

(no electrical adapter found here, only pasta party!)

So i have quite a problem then, battery is almost dead, and i only have a spare battery for the camera. Not a really good sign.My initial short walk-turn out to be a long one, because i lost my way back to the hostel. But its all good,i walked all the way to the Vinohrady,to some quiet parks, residential areas and almost got to the tv tower station, which ironically, have "babies" climbing up the towers as work of art.Cool.Babies

(look at those babies)

Ended up back in the hostel with no electrical adapter for both my cellphone and camera charger.

But its time to meet my first HC member,Eliska at her place and i was supposed to meet her at the Kobilisy station. She cooked pasta for me (great!) and then we were off to the Stare Mesto (Old town centre) to see Prague at its best - by night! We alighted from the metro station Museum and visit the VÁCLAVSKÉ NÁMĚSTÍ where many historical events occurred. It’s also a traditional place for demonstrations,
          celebrations, and similar public gatherings.

Vaclavske

Then we’re off to the STAROMĚSTSKÉ NÁMĚSTÍ where the famous Prazsky Orloj (Astronomical
clock) lies.Such a magnificent work built in the 14th century. The Tynsky chram and Kostel sv.Mikulase were also beautifully lit.It is a very wonderful setting,by night and even at about 10 pm there were countless numbers of tourists around the area.Amazing.Astrocl

Then we head towards Karlův most (Charles bridge) to reach to the Pražský hrad (Prague Castle)
Wonderful.I must say i didnt do justice, with some not so decent shots, but its really magical during the night, the old town come to live!Karluvview

(the view from Karlův Most )

The walkway up to the castle was a bit steep,so it caught us our breath, but that didnt stop Eliska telling me important events and stuffs on our way up.The best part is,that the further we went, the quieter it became, and eventually by the time we got to the castle entrance, there were practically no tourists! And the castle was almost like entirely ours! (exaggerating)Cathisidecast

There was another very old and beautiful Neo-Gothic cathedral inside the castle area called Katedrala sv.Vita (St Vitus cathedral)

There were also a very famous narrow street inside the castle called Zlata Ulicka (The Golden Lane). It was built in 1597 by order of Emperor Rudolph II, in order to house his top marksmen and
their families, but later it housed alchemists and goldsmiths, hence the name. The famous Franz Kafka used to live in one of these small houses.Gold

We then spent the time from the castle to view the city.Magical.It makes you imagine how it was during those days. And enjoying the view without the present of other tourists makes it more comfortable. We got down through the other end,via the castle stairways at about midnight.
Eliska has to get back, not to miss the bus/tram/metro and i made my way back to the hostel, via the Old town centre again. What a great introduction to Praha!Prahanite

We agreed to see again the next morning to go to another place where tourists dont usually go.And i like that.

The Exam Day and Old Trafford

May 21st, 2006 by budiman

Friday 12th MAY 2006 - Exam Day

Actually i woke up quite early (very, indeed) at 2.am and couldnt sleep,so I studied, with some self-made 3-in-1 nescafe in between the sessions.Man and Daus were very much asleep then.We then got down to the Northenden Conference room at 1st floor by 0830,and we were the 1st to be there. The candidates sitting for the exam werent many, but i guess 30 ppl or so.

Alhamdulillah the four modules we sat for (Mod 1 , 2 , 9 , 14) were very much okay (similar to the ones in the question banks) and we did it quite fast.4 papers in an hour. Then i took the time to go through again the answers and made some corrections before handling the papers to the invilgilator. We went out of the exam hall with smiles on our face. :-) Then we checked out from the hotel at 11 am,and got onto the free bus transfer to the airport at 11.15 am.Abisexam

As agreed,we were to meet Efa n friends at the Manchester Airport,of which then we’ll go together to Old trafford and spend the day together. There were three of them n they came from Wolverhampton.

Before we meet,i took the chance to consult with the staff on the czech airlines/and star alliances counter.I was a bit shocked to find the Czech air repsntative snubbed my ZED ticket for the flight from Manchester to Prague the next day. However he was kind enough to call the director of operations of CSA to ask for permission for me to board the plane. And he agreed so.Or else my plan to Prague would be ruined.

We met Shah,Efa and Azda then and we agreed to leave our baggages at the station, head for lunch and off to Old Trafford,by Metrolink.Img_0001

Yesterday was the day for those liverpool fans, but today is mine (yeah,to Old Trafford!)

Manunited
After doing some shopping at the Official Megastore,we went to the Museum and got into the tour, except for Shah and Daus, who chose not to.(hehe)
The stadium tour was closed for the day,so we just got into the museum tour. However we were in luck as the management decided to give a 10minutes preview of the stadium tour by bringing us into the seatbox, and explain the stadium in brief, and most importantly for us to manage to take the pictures with the pitch behind us.Img_0095

After we were done with the Stadium tour and left the museum ( a lot more meaningful rather than the one in anfield ) we got back to the city centre and waited for friend of Daus, wandaus and Angah, friend of Man and met friends of the 3 wolverhampton wanderers (lol). We ate at the Istanbul Express and Man had Fish & Chops ( the first of its kind.haha )
Istanx

Soon after finished with the meal,we lepak in the centre, near the Teamgeist football, while waited for the other friends to meet up.I was left with the only viable option to get to the airport that very night and sleep there, since it will be troublesome to me if i were to get on a public transport from either wandauses’ or fahmi’s place on the next very early morning.Luckily,we met Man’s friend from section 10 shah alam,Angah. He was kind enough to get a car for the next morning and send me to the airport by 5.30 am.Thankx Angah, you rock!Angah

London - Manchester - Liverpool

Thursday 11th MAY 2006 - Arrive at Heathrow

The flight was nice, seeing there were 180 empty seats. So we had fair share of empty seats beside us,and that makes even economy class  "a sleeper seat".The flight took about 12 hrs,and since I  was still unsure  how prepared i am,i took the chance to study onboard.Lucky the  In-flight entertainment (IFE) were down,so  all i did in the flight was sleep and study and eat and sleep.

Arrived Heathrow earlier than expected.it was 0515 in the morning, and i think MAS flight is still the first to touch down in Heathrow,so there were no queues, passed the immigration and customs quite quickly and easily.

All 4 of us,then bought the ticket to get into the city by Tube, and the 3 of them disembarked at the Earls Court station, while i continued my journey to Kings Cross, where i am suppose to meet Azman Jamaluddin (Man-10) thereNajibme

I waited Man for quite some time at the Thameslink station, because he was waiting for his mom to cook nasi lemak.Owh thats a good reason to be late,at least he can bring some so i can have a good nasi lemak under the british sun.We then walked to Euston station where we are going to get onboard the Virgin train to Manchester at 1035.It was still early in the morning,so as planned,Hani will join us to have a morning chat and some breakfast at the Euston station.
Hnmeuston

We got ourselves onto the Virgin Train to Manchester by quarter past ten.The train was quite comfortable and it took only 2 hrs to arrive in Manchester PiccaddilyVirgin.

We arrived as scheduled,1246 at Manchester Piccaddily station. There we met Firdaus (my batchmate) and Wan Mohd.Firdaus or betterknown as Wandaus. So the plan of the day (made by them) is to visit Liverpool’s Anfield after lunch. We ate at Subways before being fetched by Brader Kamil,a friend of Faizi,Daus’ brother.Oh yeah and we were driven in Faizi’s car, just like when i was in london back in 2003.Albertdock

As brader Kamil were to have some tuff time to find where’s the Anfield we then took some time off to wander around the Albert Dock.ship stuffs.hehe.Eventually we got ourselves to the Anfield stadium and went into the museum tour as well,(which was horrendously small and uninformative - compared to the one’s in the Old Trafford-hey dont bite me.its d cold hard fact) We paid 5 pounds each, and those liverpool fanboys did their shopping in the official store.

Younwa

Later,we were invited by Brader Kamil to visit his sister’s house somwhere in Liverpool to have something to eat (YES!) and we humbly agreed. They were a couple of doctors, just arrived in liverpool but the most important thing is the cookings were very delicious.Yum yum. Then Brader Kamil sent us back to the Manchester Brittania Airport Hotel to check-in.The exam is going to be held there,so we spent the evening resting, and did some studying prior to the exam next morning at 9.

Leaving for the EASA exam (or moreover the EUROTRIP!)

May 21st, 2006 by budiman

Wednesday 10th MAY 2006 - KLIA

Left for the airport for the MH02 flight to London which departs at 2350.
Originally i was planning to take the direct flight to Manchester, however MAS had cancelled all flights to Manchester by MAY.That leaves me with the option of landing in London Heathrow and take the Virgin Train to Manchester.

I was spotted by the check-in counter staff as not wearing proper attire (jeans) and i had to buy a long pants there in Bonia.whew.Yeah,we airlines staff must always wear a presentable attire when checking in as staff (no jeans and tshirt). But i guess its a good excuse for me to get a new pants.10% discount for airline staff applicable. :-)

I then were joined by fellow trainee engineers, namely Zam (of which i know is going to sit exam in london gatwick) then, junior Najib and Chan.So there were 4 of us trainees going for May’s EASA exam but all of them sits in London Gatwick, while mine is at Manchester Brittannia Airport Hotel
